Revised Lede by Clair Chun

I'm in Memphis for a business trip, so the local paper's name is The Commercial Appeal

Original Lede

Nashville - Tennessee Senate leaders said the Senate will likely go along with the relatively minor changes the House of Representatives made Thursday in the bill allowing Tennessee food stores to sell wine, signaling its virtually certain passage. The bill won House approval by a surprisingly large margin, 71-15, given that it never made it out of House committee in the past seven consecutive years. But even if it becomes law as expected, Tennesseans must wait at least another two years before they can buy wines in food stores. See WINE, 2A

My lede:

Tennessee is passing the bill after seven years of battle to allow its food stores to sell wine; the bill on Thursday won by 71-15.

Reasons:

I would rather get right to the point and attract the readers with a few selective keywords.
