LEDE REBOOT FOR THE SUN VALLEY EXPRESS

Here is the lede I thought needed improvement:

“If you look at the 2014 Winter Olympic women’s hockey tournament as a five-game competition, Team USA is skating with speed and power and now has its first two games successfully in the winning column.”

Here is the reboot for that lede.

Sun Valley’s Hilary Knight advances the USA Women’s Hockey Team to the semifinals with her stellar performances in Sochi.

What I did to improve the lede:

1.             Made it about our local star who people care about;

2.             Made it clear the significance of the win so you didn’t have to imagine anything;

3.             Give you enough information you want to read more.
